Day #7 – Interstitial Cystitis/Painful Bladder Syndrome Associated conditions – The ICA records that “Individuals with allergies, migraine headaches, endometriosis, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma, or sensitive skin may have a greater chance of developing IC. And, some studies have reported that IC patients are as much as 100 times more likely than the general population to have irritable bowel syndrome.”

Other common conditions not mentioned above are: Celiac Disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Chronic Prostatitis, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Pudendal Neuralgia, Sjogren’s Syndrome, Vulvodynia.

There appears to be more research being done on associated illnesses though and hopefully this will lead to finding perhaps a common link or cause which will help with treatments and a cure.

So often than not though most of us living with IC/PBS are also living with multiple other diseases including some of the above.
